A bird spike is a way in which we could avoid bird spikes perching or building up a nest inside your property without causing any harm to the birds. It is a device which contains multiple thin lengthy needles shaped rods which is normally around 1 foot long or 0.30 meter that can be placed in places where birds usually perches. These spikes are normally used in commercial buildings, street lighting and on commercial signage. Before setting up the spikes a study can be conducted as to which places birds usually perches which will help in better results from birds perching or roosting. This procedure is also called as anti roosting spikes. By using these spikes the landing area for birds is reduced which deter them from landing on the protected area. Likewise bird netting is another way to get rid of bird perching. In netting we use a polyethylene, durable and long lasting plastic material which can be covered across the area which has to be protected from birds. This kind of protection is practiced in fishery to protect fishes from birds and also at cultivation lands to protect their crops from being destroyed by wild birds. Bird Netting and Bird Spikes are legal ways of protecting properties from birds perching or roosting.
