WVO or Waste vegetable oil is being promoted as a substitute for diesel. Global warming and excess carbon in the atmosphere and concern about its repercussions are causing tremendous tension in the world. WVO is an alternate fuel for diesel engines and for heating oil burners. What exactly is Waste vegetable oil? WVO is any vegetable oil that has become unfit for using in the preparation of food. It is collected from restaurants and manufacturers of fried food products. Take for example French fries or potato chips. Now, after one batch of sliced potato pieces are fried, the oil can be used once more for frying a second batch of potato fries. The end product will still be tasty and hygienic, but it is wise not to use that oil again a third time or more. Because, then it becomes very bad for health. In some places, oil that has been used for frying even once is not re-used again to maintain excellent quality of the product. It is this left over oil that becomes a source for bio-fuel.
